OMG is the propagation of an industrial tradition which is rich in successes and outstanding results - a tradition which dates back to the XIX century, an era in which the heavy industry saw its ripening also in Italy.
The Company saw its birth in the field of energy production, devoting its ensuing activities to the construction of bridges, steel structures, lock gates, hydraulic and naval equipment and much more.
The history of the Company has travelled hand in hand with all the important events that mark the industrial history of our Country, starting off with the Officine di Battaglia right up to Officine Galileo and the successive association with Magrini Galileo Meccanica.
At the close of the XX century, the Company saw its interests and activities focused on two main sectors - container handling equipment and water screen systems.
In the beginning of the 80's, OMG was one of the first companies to realise that the ports market, on a world-wide scale, was heading for an increase in container traffic. Recognising in this trend, the need for higher performance cranes, OMG immediately proceeded to realise, through the application of new technology and sophisticated electronic apparatus, lifting and material handling equipment possessing increased work load capacities and improved operational characteristics.
The high success achieved within main transhipment and intermodal high volume traffic terminals utilising OMG equipment, bears testimony to the efficiency, quality and durability range of products.
